An ice sculpture contest will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the corner of State Street and Chet Krause Drive. A family-style Norwegian dinner of lutefisk, fresh cod with drawn butter, meatballs, potatoes, vegetable, lefse and Norwegian pastries will be served from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Iola-Scandinavia High School on S. Jackson Street, along with a craft sale. Cost: $12 adults, $5 for ages under 12. Skijoring, a dog-assisted, cross-country ski event, starts at 3 p.m. and a twilight snowshoe race will be held at 6 p.m. at the Iola Winter Sports Club, located five miles northwest of Iola on County MM. On Sunday, the Nordic Combined cross-country race will be held at 9:30 a.m. and the Central USSA Ski Jumping event will begin at noon at the Iola Ski Jumping Complex, E398 County MM. A first-time event will be a 'Fat Bike Race' that begins at 6 p.m.
