- Birthplace:
- Green Bay, WI
- Education:
- Wrightstown High School '03; some undergraduate study at UWGB- 4 semesters. I completed the Young Community Ministry Institute program in 2007 with the primary focus in Youth Ministry.
- First Job:
- McDonalds...doesn't everyone? I actually moved up the ladder. Probably wouldn't put that up here except that it's the only job I had before Q90 came into play.
- Family Ties:
- 2 bros at UW-Madtown, 1 sis in high school and, of course, my ma 'n pa. I recently married my youth-group sweetheart, Maria, back in August. We do look forward to adding a few members to our family in the future. =)
- Hobbies/Interests:
- I love playing sports. I'm best at soccer as that's what I spent 17 years of my life playing. I've also played the drums for 10 years now. But far above any of those things, I enjoy spending time with the Gift Giver. That's why I'm successful at any of those things. I love hanging out with youth and working in youth ministry. That's the church of today. No matter what I do, it's all about being Kingdom-minded.
- Guilty Pleasure:
- Video games, Twizzlers. Can't beat that combination on a rainy day.
- Favorite TV shows/Movies:
- CSI: Las Vegas (the original), The Office, Numbers, Criminal Minds for top TV shows. My favorite movies would have to be The Emperor's Club, Stranger Than Fiction, Radio, Ladder 49, United 93, World Trade Center, Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, Liar Liar, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. I'm a big comedy and thought-provoking fan. I like movies and TV shows that have either of those qualities.
- Pets:
- I used to have a dog...thanks for bringing it up.
- Favorite Artist/Song:
- There are so many. One of my favorites that the Q plays is "Drifter" by DecembeRadio because that is my life's theme song. Maybe I should just go by artists: Thousand Foot Krutch, Skillet, Red, Supertones, KJ-52, John Reuben, Liquid, Lecrae, Toby Mac, Five Iron Frenzy, Family Force 5, DC Talk (back in tha day), Audio Adrenaline, T-Bone, Kutless, Pillar, Disciple, Stellar Tart, Hawk Nelson, Linkin Park, P.O.D., Matisyahu, Mute Math, DecembeRadio, Vertical Horizon, Plumb, The Benjamin Gate, Out of Eden, 12 Stones, Chevelle, eLi, Day of Fire, Cross Movement, I.A. Symphony, Lifehouse, Newsboys, Hillsong United, 38th Parallel, World Wide Message Tribe, Manic Drive, Creed, Coldplay, Fireflight, David Crowder Band, DJ Maj, Flyleaf, Grits, Jars of Clay, Superchic[k], Spoken, The Fray, PAX217, Linkin Park (old stuff) plus others...
- How did you end up working at the Q?
- I like the analogy that I've heard over and over and it's that basically I was Jonah and God was calling me to Ninevah, but I was reluctant. So what happens? Jeff gets swallowed up by a whale and, well...this is the next part of my Ninevah.
- Favorite Bible Passage:
- Zechariah 4:6 comes to mind. Different seasons remind me of different Scriptures. (Thanks, Holy Spirit) I love reading about Christ's life and teachings anytime. For some reason that guy just inspires me ;)
- My prayer for Q-90:
- In all things, be reminded daily that the battle has been won. The price has been paid and that we walk in the Spirit. Honoring God in all we say and do.
- If you could add or change one thing to the Green Bay area, what would it be?
- I would say that we should have more snow in the winter.
- Who did you want to be like when you were growing up?
- Well, this one time in fourth grade, I started putting my name as 'Jefferson' because I thought it was cool that a president had a last name similar to my first name. Then the teacher asked me about it and I got embarrassed so I stopped doing it...I wanted to be like my youth pastor, Paul...
- If you could meet one person past, present or future who would it be and why?
- I'll meet Jesus, I would like to meet Ravi Zacharias. I love that guy's stuff. He's just brilliant.
- If you were granted one wish, what would it be and why?
- That Christ comes back in my lifetime. That would be sweet. And that the different denominations would wake up and unite under Christ's covering to reach this generation like never before.
- What was the last book you read?
- The last one that I actually enjoyed from start to finish was "What's So Amazing about Grace" by Philip Yancey. I'm currently starting 3 books: "Blue Like Jazz" by Donald Miller and a couple others I'm forgetting the names of at the moment.
- If you could spend a whole day with somebody famous, who would it be?
- I'm not as big on hanging with famous people. When you boil it down, everyone is on the same level whether you have tons of money or not. The difference is that famous people live in a glass house. Almost literally.
- What's your favorite candy and soda?
- Twizzlers and M&Ms. I've recently converted to Brisk Raspberry Iced Tea-ism.
