- Birthplace:
- Daytona Beach, Florida
- Education:
- BA Classical Studies - Latin, & BS Ed from U of MO - Columbia, also 13 hrs Grad School in Latin & Classics. Included Ancient Greek, so I can really say, "It's all Greek to me!"
- First Job:
- Salesclerk at Sears - mostly would straighten racks of jeans so I'd look busy.
- Family Ties:
- Mike (yes, THAT Mike) who's the best husband in the world, stepkids Matt & Andrea, and "mommy's little boy" Cliff.
- Hobbies / Interests:
- TRAVEL, TRAVEL, TRAVEL. Did I mention I like to travel? Especially when it includes COMPLETELY UNINTERRUPTED time with my hubby. And DANCING!!! Mike actually indulged me with some Ballroom lessons-our "niche" seems to be jitterbug & swing, but we do a decent waltz. The foxtrot can be a bit of a trainwreck (or a wrestling match), but we do a mean grapevine! Also love to read, but it seems that's one of those things I never quite get around to...
- Guilty Pleasure:
- Shopping - if it were an Olympic sport, I'd be a world-class gold medalist
- Favorite TV Shows / Movies:
- TV: Jeopardy, any show with a form of "Dance" in the title, and any Star Trek (except Deep Space Nine). Also currently addicted to The Closer & Monk. Movies: The Quiet Man, which is the best John Wayne movie EVER, Ben Hur, The Best Years of Our Lives, Holiday Inn...and for pure yuks, Young Frankenstein & Galaxy Quest
- Pets:
- A very "emotionally needy" orange tabby cat named Cliff-he's so obsessed with "mommy", he gets bulimic when I pack a suitcase and leave for a trip
- Favorite Artist / Song:
- Anything from Pillar and most Newsboys, Superchick & DC Talk. For worship, you can't beat Third Day's first "Offerings" or most Hillsong (sing it, Darlene!)
- How did you end up working at the Q?
- They had an opening that fit all my prior 20 years of work experience perfectly! (Isn't that awesome how God works like that? It's like our whole lives are "Training" for what He really wants to use us for!)
- Favorite Bible Passage:
- Romans 8 (esp. vs 28, 31-39), Joshua 1:3 and 5 and all of Philippians.
- My prayer for Q 90:
- That we see things through God's eyes and know that all things are possible in Him - that we go where He sends us to blow this world wide open for the Kingdom of God, through the music He is using today to reach the youth of this world.
- If you could add or change one thing to the Green Bay area what would it be?
- A Cracker Barrel Restaurant (their green beans are the best!)
- Who did you want to be like when you were growing up?
- My Mom, then I wanted to be an archaeologist in Troy or ancient Rome. I ended up with a career in insurance marketing just like my Daddy (and I am still his "little girl").
- If you could meet one person past present or future, who would it be and why?
- President Bush ("W")-he just seems like a genuinely nice guy with a servant's heart, trying to do the right thing, and I bet he'd be a lot of fun too. Would also have loved long discussions with C.S. Lewis.
- If you were granted one wish what would it be and why?
- More time (quality time) with God - because I could never get enough!
- What was the last book that you read and when did you read it?
- "Captivating" by John & Stasi Eldredge (love ANYTHING from them) and "Fight Like a Girl" by Lisa Bevere. Next on my list is my husband's book "Intimacy with God" (NO, I haven't read it YET!)
- If you could ask one question in this survey, what would it be, and how would you answer it?
- Q: Are there animals in heaven? A: In Revelations 19:11, Jesus returns riding a white horse out of heaven...duh! (and THANK YOU Pastor Wells for pointing that out to me!).
- If you could spend a whole day with somebody famous, who would it be and why?
- Joyce Meyer - I'd love to spend a day shopping with her!
- What's your favorite candy and soda?
- Rosana Fiorazo got me addicted to Coffee Crisp bars, also love Hot Tamales. Can't do the soda thing anymore (a plumbing issue...don't ask), but I go through the Internat'l Delight Fat Free French Vanilla Creamer in my coffee by the half-gallon.
