Calling Minutes for Troops

Marines of the Fox and Golf Company rely on calling minutes to connect with their families back home. Sat phones are one of the many contributing factors of acheiving high morale and troop welfare among the marines and sailors. In order to recharge the phones with much needed additional minutes help is needed. The Wisconsin American Legion needs to raise $50,000 to provide deployed Wisconsin Reserve and Guard units with phones and sufficient calling minutes to allow all of their members to call home to Wisconsin.

Volunteer Guardian Program

Brown County Human Services Department is in urgent need of Volunteer Guardians for individuals who have been found to be mentally incompetent by a physician and the court and who have no other adult relative who can perform this role. A volunteer guardian is matched One-On-One with an elderly, cognitively challenged or mentally ill ward. Volunteers must be mature adults able to make an ongoing commitment to an individual in need. A monthly stipend and mileage reimbursement are available. Flexible hours; knowledge of medical issues, disabilities, and advocacy are helpful but not required. Orientation and training provided.
